The dimension of the phone stands at 108x45x15 and weighs about 82g.The phone features a candy form factor and with rounded edges making it easy to slip in through pockets of any size.
The Nokia 5030 XpressRadio sports a 1.8 inch TFT screen which uses the 65 million colours at a 128x160 pixels. The screen is low end and thus the colors look faded and are not bright enough. The interface is easy to operate and is easily assisted by the 5 way navigation keys on the phone.
On the multimedia front the highlight of the phone has been the FM Radio. The Radio can be used as an alarm clock feature too. The phone features an internal FM Radio antenna. The one touch FM radio channel selection key on the side makes it an ease to invoke the radio buttons. The phone can be placed sideways on the table and used as portable FM radio unit.
On the communication front the phone operates on 2G network with GSM 900/1800 and GSM 850/1900. The battery on the phone lasts up to 525 hours and has talk time of about 10 hours. The SMS and MMS option facilitate messaging on the phone with T9. The internal memory on the phone is up to 1000 entries and there is no option for card slot for external memory.
Along with vibration alert, phone also supports multiple ringtone options which include MP3, Polyphone and video ring tones.
Overall the phone's highlight has been its radio which features an internal antenna and therefore the headset need not be plugged in to enjoy the radio on the phone. It comes with decent features and proves to be a good deal as an entry level music phone.
