Nokia 5310 XpressMusic

The Nokia 5310 Xpress Music is one of those phones that will go down in history as an icon of good design and functionality at an unbelievably low price. It is easily one of the best buys in market, promising users with great features and a slim design at a modest price. True to its moniker, it is a dedicated music phone that is crafted to style. Its slim, lightweight design with a dedicated set of music keys just go on to reaffirm its purpose as a compact little boom-box. The only problem one would have with the phone is the poor quality of the camera but hey, for the price you’re paying, it would seem like you’re getting a lot more than you could ever hope for. So, if music is your blood, and you’re tired of carrying an mp3 player and a phone separately, it’s time to integrate the two by adding this phone to your wish list.

Design and Looks
Slim phones have never been Nokia's specialty, but with the introduction of this phone, the notion might just turn history. Nokia is obviously vying with the Sony-Ericsson Walkman series of slim music phones that too are trendsetters in their own right. And clearly, Nokia is the winner if you go by design.

The phone is compact and light-weight, it has a fairly decent keypad and the display offers 16 million colours and is legible even under direct sunlight. Moreover, the sides of the phone feature aluminum bars that house the conveniently placed music keys.

The phone is appropriately coloured black with the aluminum bars coloured either red or blue depending on the colour scheme.

The only hiccup with the phone's design is the poor camera that does not feature a shutter or flash in addition to the uneven backlighting and the odd-placement of the memory card slot under the battery.
