Nokia E51

The Nokia Enterprise-51 is everything a conservative business phone should be… and more! It has modest style and a range of features to cater to every business professional and non-business professional alike. Where it lacks in is as a media phone; while this is excusable for the present generation of business phones, it is no secret that business phones will have to incorporate high-end multimedia features to help the business person give mini-presentations and such to make the sales-pitch.

Design and Looks
The E51 is the slimmest phone in Nokia's E series line. It has metallic highlights that adorn the sides and back of the phone, these surfaces attract finger prints but that's where the cleaning cloth you get with the packaging comes in handy. Being a business model, it goes without saying that users will compose emails on it, and since this requires a great keypad, Nokia has delivered on just that: texting or composing emails with the keypad is simply a joy. What's missing is the edit key that features a pencil icon. Add to that, the rigid side keys and joystick are also unwelcome too.

In terms of sound quality and reception, the E51 does exceedingly well and one need not worry about not being able to hear the phone ring in a noisy environment. It also has a built in voice-command to help you dial a number by simply speaking out the name of the person to the microphone, unfortunately it works well only for native English names.

The phone also comes with QuickOffice to help you view statements and spreadsheets on the mobile; sadly, you cannot edit any documents on the phone with this preinstalled feature and in order to do so, you will have to purchase the entire suite at Nokia Download Center. As an organizer, this phone performs like nothing else.

But as a media device, the E51 performs poorly with stale media features. Even the camera is nothing to brag about as it does not feature autofocus or flash.

The phone performs well for what it was designed for, and for the modest price it is available for, you couldn't ask for more.
